Trikuta Dham | Vaishno Mata Mahima
Legend of Vaishno Devi
Vaishno Devi was a devoted girl named Vaishnavi who worshipped Lord Vishnu. When the tantrik Bhairav Nath tried to pursue her, she fled to the Trikuta Mountains. After slaying Bhairav Nath, she took the form of a rock (Pindi) and merged into the mountain cave where she is worshipped today.
Three Pindis
In the holy cave (Garbh Joon), Mata Vaishno Devi appears in three natural rock formations (Pindis) representing Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Saraswati - the three forms of Adi Shakti.
Bhairav Temple
Bhairav Nath temple is located further up the mountain. Mata forgave him before killing him and granted that pilgrimage would be incomplete without his darshan. He became her guardian and protector.
