📖 वरुथिनी एकादशी कथा (Varuthini Ekadashi Katha)
राजा मान्धाता की समस्या | King Mandhata's Problem
हिंदी: प्राचीन काल में राजा मान्धाता का राज्य था। वह एक धर्मात्मा राजा था और प्रजा का कल्याण करता था। परंतु उसके राज्य में एक गंभीर समस्या थी। राक्षसों और दुष्ट शक्तियों का आतंक था। वे रात्रि में आकर निर्दोष लोगों को परेशान करते थे। राजा ने सेना भेजकर उन्हें रोकने की कोशिश की परंतु वे अदृश्य हो जाते थे।
English: In ancient times, King Mandhata ruled a kingdom. He was a righteous king who worked for the welfare of his subjects. However, there was a serious problem in his kingdom. There was terror from demons and evil forces. They would come at night and trouble innocent people. The king tried to stop them by sending armies but they would become invisible.
ऋषि वशिष्ठ से सलाह | Consultation with Sage Vashishtha
हिंदी: परेशान होकर राजा मान्धाता ने महर्षि वशिष्ठ से सलाह ली। ऋषि ने कहा, "हे राजन्! यह समस्या साधारण युद्ध से हल नहीं होगी। इसके लिए दिव्य सुरक्षा की आवश्यकता है। आपको वैशाख महीने के कृष्ण पक्ष की एकादशी का व्रत करना चाहिए। इसका नाम वरुथिनी एकादशी है और यह सभी प्रकार की सुरक्षा प्रदान करती है।"
English: Troubled, King Mandhata consulted Sage Vashishtha. The sage said, "O King! This problem cannot be solved by ordinary warfare. It requires divine protection. You should observe the Ekadashi fast of Krishna Paksha in Vaishakh month (April 13, 2026). Its name is Varuthini Ekadashi and it provides all types of protection."
सुरक्षा व्रत का आरंभ | Beginning of Protection Fast
हिंदी: राजा मान्धाता ने पूरे राज्य में वरुथिनी एकादशी के व्रत की घोषणा की। उन्होंने भगवान विष्णु की विशेष पूजा करवाई और सुरक्षा का व्रत रखा। सभी प्रजाजन मिलकर इस व्रत में भाग लिए। राजा ने स्वयं भी पूर्ण श्रद्धा से व्रत रखा और भगवान से अपनी प्रजा की सुरक्षा की प्रार्थना की।
English: King Mandhata announced the Varuthini Ekadashi fast throughout the kingdom. He arranged special worship of Lord Vishnu and observed the protection fast. All subjects joined in this fast together. The king himself also observed the fast with complete devotion and prayed to God for the protection of his subjects.

हिंदी: व्रत के प्रभाव से राज्य के चारों ओर एक दिव्य सुरक्षा कवच बन गया। जब राक्षस और दुष्ट शक्तियां आईं तो वे इस कवच को भेद नहीं सकीं। भगवान विष्णु के विशेष दूत उनकी रक्षा करने आए। राक्षसों को देखते ही दिव्य शक्तियों ने उन्हें भगा दिया। प्रजा को पूर्ण सुरक्षा मिल गई।

Special messengers of Lord Vishnu came to protect them. As soon as they saw the demons, the divine powers drove them away. The people received complete protection.
